School Information and Reminders
School Vision Statement:
Carver students are empowered and equipped to
compete and contribute to a global society.
School Opening and Closing time:
Children are supervised beginning at 7:40 am each morning. They go into their classes at 8:25 am and teaching starts at 8:40 am. Dismissal for all students is at 2:50 pm. We cannot take responsibility for children who are dropped off to school before 7:40 am.
Reminder ~ Free Breakfast
A very nutritious breakfast is served daily from 7:40 a.m. – 8:20 a.m. and is FREE to all students. It’s important that your child receive a good breakfast in order to have a successful day. If you choose to take advantage of Carver’s Breakfast Program, we ask that your child(ren) are in the cafeteria no later than 7:40 a.m.
Please do not use the staff parking lot (back and side of building) in the mornings or afternoons. Staff needs to be able to access their spaces so they can come into work and take charge of your children. They should not be obstructed from leaving in the afternoon either. That area is also where the school buses drop off and pick up, so it needs to be kept free. If you wish to bring your child into the school you can park a little further up the road. Please don’t
park on the double white lines or in front of our neighbors’ houses/entrances.
BOOK IT! READING PROGRAM
Our school will be participating in the Pizza Hut Book It! Reading Program. Teachers will set a reading goal for your child. At the end of the month if your child achieves their goal they receive a coupon for a free personal size pizza from Pizza Hut. For more details and activities to do at home go to www.bookitprogram.com/ parents. You can also get free ebooks to help your child get started on reading, go to www.amazon.com/bookit.
