Carver News
A message from our principal
 Dear Carver Parents and Guardians:

The George Washington Carver administration and staff began the new school year full of hope and promise that each and every child would be successful and productive members of the Carver family. You, our parents and guardian have shown by your participation in school activities that you are our partners in helping to make our school vision a reality. As we have seen through the active participation of the dads who have consistently attended the Carver Fatherhood Initiative meetings, children benefit greatly when parents/guardians take an active role in their child's education. It has been proven that when students have parental support at home, they enjoy their learning and school life even more. Parents who help their children succeed academically gain a sense of pride in their children as well as in themselves. Being an involved parent demonstrates to your child that you sincerely value their education.

Thank you parents and guardians for your support of your children and the support you have shown to the educators in our school.  The building and maintaining of a strong home/school partnership has brought us successfully through the first half of the school year.  Dr. Kevin West, our new Superintendent of Schools has expressed his pleasure with his observations during his visits to our school.  Please continue to be involved by reading your monthly calendar in order that you will be knowledgeable about upcoming events that you will want to attend.  Your attendance at PTA meetings is so very important to the life of the school.

The staff and I anxiously look forward to continued demonstration of growth in your child’s academic, social and physical achievements here at George Washington Carver Institute of Science and Technology.  Remember to make every attempt to read with your child every day for at least 20 minutes a day. J

Respectfully,

Sharon Davis
Principal
